Our Alanya and Mahmutlar Guide was created in 2016 and updated up to, and including 2019. It has been kept as an archive of life in the areas pre-pandemic. Many businesses were lost during this period, many survived or changed hands/locations. We keep it online as a tribute and memory of life in the locality before covid 19.
Golden Hands Hamam and Spa is located in Ceray Tower, Mahmutlar. It is a vast studio which has been creatively refurbished with a rich tapestry of digital murals and embossed wall papers. They effectively serve to transport your mind to a place where you can feel calm and serene.

Take a trip to Cleopatra Beach and check out the craft markets there on the street. So many interesting crafts and an abundance of unique souvenirs for tourist to treasure.
One of our favourite things to do in Alanya is drive to the Alanya Castle. Day or night, Winter or Summer it is always a breathtaking trip and we never tire of it, even after 15 years.
Ozzy’s in Mahmutlar is a family run business with 3 brothers all of whom are actively involved in the day to day working of the bar and restaurant.
Ozan performs much of the front of house duties, as well as oversees the food and bar service. His gentle, respectful and friendly manner makes him a very easy first contact for customers visiting the restaurant. He is a master at creating cocktails and knows the workings of the restaurant like the back of his hand.

Alanya is mostly a touristic city. This industry remains one of the major economic sectors of the city. However its population is continuously growing, as it welcomes large numbers of expats, especially retirees.
Mahmutlar, a town which is a well established community and the largest of Alanya’s suburbs. It is a popular place for ex-pats to choose a second home not least because of its vibrant nightlife, live music scenes and friendly beach bars. Foreigners and locals live happily side by side in Mahmutlar and there is a great atmosphere and friendly feel to the place.
We Love Mahmutlar was the first Alanya community to feature on our website and the facebook group associated with this site still boasts over 4200 members.

We love Kargicak because it is such a beautiful area, much of which is located on the hillside looking down over the coast and town of neighbouring Mahmutlar. It is only 18 minutes transfer time to Alanya-Gazipasa Airport and this will become even quicker when the second stage of the D400 beach bypass is completed.
A MIXTURE OF OLD AND NEW HOMES, FARMLAND, FOREST AND EXCLUSIVE RESIDENCES
For many years the government only allowed single or double storey residences in the Kargicak area as it was, and is, a protected natural area. Until 2010 you would only find fine villa residences with private pools and gardens and the occasional small rise apartments on selected sites.
Izzys Beach Club is a brand new bar and restaurant opened in 2019. Sadly it closed after lockdown when the locations and design of all beach bars and restaurants were streamlined according to local council blueprints. You will find Izzys new bar and restaurant in Mahmutlar’s town centre where much of the flair and impeccable reputation Izzy has built up over the years can still be enjoyed by all today.
So a nostaligic archive for the best beach bar in Mahmutlar up to 2020.
We are confident what we say here about management, service and food quality will be at least as good, but probably even better in Izzys current bar and restaurant in Mahmutlar town centre.
Alanya Harbour is full of all kinds of boats, tiny colourful fishing boats, small cruise ships, fishing charter boats and the huge highly decorated party style boats that are famous for their booze cruises.
